TS medical varsity gets Neet rank list wrong

A few parents and Neet aspirants were shocked by the jumbling of ranks in the state list put out by the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences on Monday.

According to parents and aspirants, the state rank for Neet all India 43,757 (459 marks) was shown as 1,910. Another student with Neet all India rank 44,146 (459 marks) was given 1,896 rank. In the OBC category, Neet allIndia rank 43,945 (459 rank) was translated to state rank 1,889 in unreserved category.

ACCORDING to parents and aspirants, the state rank for Neet All India 43,757 (459 marks) was shown as 1,910 and an All India 44,146 rank was given 1,896 rank. In the OBC category, Neet all-India rank 43,945 (459 rank) was translated to state rank 1,889. by these rankings and wanted a fresh list.

Ms B. Srilakshmi, a parent, said, “I am really confused. The difference fo a single rank could mean a lost opportunit­y.” She said she had noticed the discrepanc­y in the case of her son and with some others. She said the AP ranks appeared to be fine.

Asked about the discrepanc­y, Dr Karunakar Reddy, ViceChance­llor of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, said: “Parents and aspirants need not to worry as it’s just a system error by the CBSE and we are looking into the matter. We will rectify it and will upload the revised list on the webiste.”

He said there should be no cause for worry as this was not the merit list.

That would be displayed after submission of online applicatio­n after the notificati­on by the university and verificati­on of original certificat­es of qualified candidates.
