Secunderabad, took the help of a passerby and browsed about the details of rescue homes in Mumbai on his mobile.

Before leaving, Poornima who is social media savvy also reportedly had conversation with an unidentified person over Instagram and shared her aspirations to become a film star. Police are now probing if she was lured by that person to travel to Mumbai.

After Poornima was traced on Sunday in Balika Sudar Grih in Dongre area, she was handed over to the social welfare department, who produced her before the Child Welfare Committee on Monday.

Meanwhile, a team from Cyberabad police and her parents also flew to Mumbai to bring her back. But she refused to go back saying that she is scared.

“In her statement to police, she said that they are not her biological parents and so she did not want to go back with them. We suspect she is still under some fear due to which she said this. Even her parents seem to be hiding some details,” a senior police official from Cyberabad said.

The girl’s statement has shocked her parents and relatives. “We do not understand what forced her to talk like this. We are sure she will change her mind and reunite with the family soon.” said a relative in Hyderabad.

With this U-turn of the girl, two women police officers from Cyberabad flew to Mumbai to take custody of the girl from the local police. She will be brought to Hyderabad and produced before the Child Welfare Committee here and on their instruction depends the next process.

Meanwhile, police found that after reaching Shirdi, she took the help of a passerby to access the Internet and search for rescue homes in Mumbai.

Inquiries revealed that the girl wanted to make her career in film industry and was least interested in studies. She even used social media to share her interests with strangers.

Poornima told cops that a few days before she went missing from on June 7, she had a dream in which she heard a voice saying that her parents will have a threat if they saw her face and for their safety she ran away from home.
