Laxman rakes up Liberation Day

- DC CORRESPONDENT

The BJP would launch a series of protests by identifying issues at the village and mandal levels on the run-up to the 2019 Assembly elections, party state president Dr K. Laxman said here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the second day of state executive meeting, Dr Laxman asked the party cadres to make the people aware on how the government had failed to fulfil its promises.

He said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had lost control over the administration and scandals and corruption had taken the centrestage in his rule.

He said the promises made by the TRS about irrigation, jobs and welfare had not been met. He accused the TRS leaders of being interested only in making money. Dr Laxman found fault with the TRS leadership trying to appease a section of society by not celebrating the Liberation Day as an official function.

“KCR had demanded official celebrations of Telangana liberation during the statehood agitation. After coming to power, he is praising the Nizam rulers to please the Muslim community which exposes his vote bank politics,” Dr Laxman said.

He asked party workers to highlight the achievements and reformative decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Muralidhar Rao, Nagam Janardhan, and senior leaders took part in the meeting.
