KTR-Lokesh wow Twitterati

Bonhomie between the heirs apparent and ministers in the Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh government­s — K.T. Rama Rao and Nara Lokesh came to the fore on Monday.

This exchange caught the attention of the Twitterati, who appreciate­d the two leaders with a series of tweets that continued through the day.

It all started with Mr Lokesh sending a message greeting Mr Rama Rao on his birthday.

Extending hearty birthday greetings, Mr Lokesh wished Mr Rama Rao good health and happiness. Mr Rama Rao promptly responded by conveying his thanks to Mr Lokesh.

“Appreciate your greetings and hope to work together for betterment of the people of AP and Telangana,” he tweeted.

A user named Vishwas Vinay tweeted that this was mutual respect at its best. “Way to go sir. Shows maturity and how young generation understand­s the need for working together for mutual benefit. Political difference­s apart,” was the reaction from Twitter user Sudarshan Singh.

Another user named Neelu felt unity in diversity if both did work together.

Meanwhile, Mr Rama Rao’s colleague in the Telangana state Cabinet T. Harish Rao, took to Twitter to wish his cousin. “Wishing the young and dynamic leader KTR a very happy birthday,” posted Mr Harish Rao.

Mr Rama Rao responded by tweeting: “Thank you baava.”

Mr Rama Rao’s Twitter account was flooded with birthday greetings from netizens, his loyalists, associates and party men and also well known sports and film personalit­ies including Sania Mirza, P.V. Sindhu, Samantha, Rakul Preet Singh, Eesha, Lakshmi Manchu, Manchu Vishnu, Akhil Akkineni, Deviprasad, S. Thaman and others.

In the evening, Mr Rama Rao wrote “Not sure if I am worth it but received lots of love. Humbled and feel blessed. Grateful to all who greeted, called, tweeted and texted (sic)”.
