SATYANARAY­ANA PUTS EVERGREEN IN TOP POSITION

K. Satyanaray­ana of Evergreen was the star of the show on second day’s play as the spinner put his side in a commanding position against Cambridge XI here in the Hyderabad Cricket Associatio­n’s top division league match on Wednesday. Left-arm spinner Satyanaray­ana trapped five batsmen in his spin web to jolt Cambridge XI at regular intervals who were bowled out for a mere 130. The southpaw’s bowling figures read 10-2-24-5. Sukhein Jain too chipped in with his valuable three wickets while giving away six runs. Evergreen were 82 for 1 in their second innings at stumps. Earlier, starting at their overnight total of 290/6, the Evergreen side were folded for 339, G. Vikram Naik (175) being their top scorer. In the other Pool ‘B’ match, Continenta­l hit back hard at India Cements after resuming at their overnight score of 165/5. Prajwal Manoth led his side from the front and scored valuable 80 runs along with T. Santosh (49) and A. Sai Pranay (49) who played anchor roles to take their side to 361 before being bowled out. Kamashetty Ashish with 5 for 72 was the top bowler for India Cements. In response, India Cements got off to a shaky start to their second innings and were reeling at 19 for 2 by the end of day’s play.
