Congress: CM’s stand ‘absurd’
The Congress continued its tirade against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his recent remarks that the party was obstructing development by filing cases in courts.
Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy said the party would block the construction of the new Secretariat at Bison Polo Ground too as Mr Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision was “absurd”. He said the existing Secretariat was structurally sound.
He said the Congress would approach court if the Chief Minister continued to take “wrong decisions as per his whims and fancies and wastes public money”.
“Everyone has the right to move court for justice if the rulers take decisions that harm the interests of the people, state or the country. How can the CM deny anyone the right,” Mr Shashidhar Reddy asked. “If he feels he has done nothing wrong, let him submit his arguments and proof before the court,” he said.
Congress senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao questioned the need for a new Secretariat as the CM was working from his camp office.
“He never gives appointments to anyone to meet him on public issues. He gives appointments only to those who want to extend marriage invitations. People will soon teach him a lesson,” Mr Hanumantha Rao said.
He said he had seen a motorist being penalised `3,000 for parking his car in front of a shop in Amberpet. “How can poor people afford such challans? I will tour the places the CM visits and expose the misdeeds of the government,” he said.
MARRI SHASHIDHAR Reddy said Congress would approach court if the Mr Rao continued to take “wrong decisions as per his whims and fancies and wastes public money”.
THEY WOULD also block the construction of the new Secretariat at Bison Polo Ground.
