LOCALS UP IN ARMS AGAINST ROAD BLOCK AT NANAL NAGAR

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Annoyed with regular traffic jams, residents and commuters of Nanal Nagar and Khaderbagh informed the Hyderabad traffic police about the traffic woes.

According to the commuters, they are facing a huge problem as the right turn towards the Airport Road is blocked, affecting traffic towards Attapur, Rajendra Nagar and Airport Main Road.

Commuters, who pass through this stretch, alleged this blockage has increased travel time from 20 minutes to 40 minutes to these destinations. The Hyderabad traffic police has assured them action.

The traffic block not only affects the nearby residents but also senior citizens and children who are unable to cross the road due to heavy traffic.

There are four hospitals in this area. Even ambulances are finding it difficult to reach their destination, the residents noted.

Ziyaul Hasan, a resident from Avalon Apartment in Nanalnagar, said, “We are facing a huge problem because of the traffic jams in our locality. How can they block the main road and divert the huge flow of traffic onto the service road?”

He added, “We informed this problem to the Hyderabad traffic police, asking them lift the rightturn block for free flow of traffic towards Attapur, Rajendra Nagar and Airport through the main road.”

P Jaipal, ACP traffic west zone, said, “To ensure free flow of traffic we had closed the right-turn from Nanal Nagar. If commuters are facing problem, we will look into the matter.”

COMMUTERS, who pass through the Nanal Nagar stretch, alleged this blockage has increased the travel time from 20 minutes to 40 minutes towards Attapur, Rajendra Nagar and Airport through the main road.
