Owaisi calls for CID investigation into the scandal Unqualified staffers in key Wakf posts

These facts emerged during the ‘House Committee’ discussion attended by AIMIM floor leader, Akbaruddin Owaisi and TS Wakf Board chairman, Mohammed Saleem and other public representatives to revive the functioning of the minority welfare department.

During the discussion when Mr Owaisi insisted the minority welfare department present the report about the illegal appointments, the Wakf board officials handed him a copy.

The report states that several persons who were not qualified were working at certain posts like office clerks, office superintendents, office subordinates and other positions.

While a few were continuing with their jobs, others had retired and availed of post-retirement benefits too. A few employees were using their good relations by appointing their relatives too.

“The main role of the Wakf Board is to help the community and with its properties running in thousands of acres worth several crores of rupees. How can the board run with inefficient staff? A CID inquiry should be ordered into the case and all those responsible should be held accountable,” demanded AIMIM floor leader, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi.

“These appointments were made despite objections being raised by the minorities’ welfare department on the pretext that the board is an autonomous body. Recruitment was done without conducting any examination or checking the ability of the candidates. After I took over, I pursued the issue and got the details. We are shortly holding a meeting to decide this is not possible if the staff in incompetent,” the chairman said. The Telangana government transferred several IPS officers on Tuesday. Nalgonda SP Nyalakonda Prakash Reddy was transferred DCP (admin), Rachakonda. Nagarkurnool district SP Kalmeshwar Shingenavar was transferred as Mahboobnagar SP. He will also hold additional charge as Nagarkurnool SP. Suryapet SP Parimala Hana Nutan was posted as SP, CID. CID SP J. Prakash Jadhav was posted as OSD/SP, Suryapet district. Addl. DCP (Admin), Rachakonda, D.V. Srinivasa Rao was posted as OSD/SP of Nalgonda. Meanwhile, the post of Rama Rajeshwari, IPS, was ordered to be shown against leave reserve posts.
