ACB probes engineer’s house, finds `10cr-assets

The Telangana State Anti Corruption Bureau unearthed illegal assets worth `10 crore at current market prices from a deputy executive engineer of the Panchayat Raj department in Ranga Reddy district.

The accused, Mr B. Sudharshan Reddy, working in Moinabad sub division, was arrested and produced in court.

ACB sleuths conducted simultaneo­us raids on his residence and that of his relatives and friends. ACB director general J. Purnachand­ar Rao said Sudharshan Reddy had acquired 11 acres and 10 guntas of agricultur­al land, two houses, four flats and 11 house sites. He had also invested `22 lakh in the Kavita Raj Apartments in Mansooraba­d.

The seized assets include a ground plus first floor house in Asmanghad worth `9.8 lakh, a ground plus first floor house at Lingojigud­a worth `32.10 lakh, three flats at High End Homes Apartments in Serilingam­pally worth `40.2 lakh, a flat in the Dharmaredd­y Complex in Dilsukhnag­ar worth `20 lakh, two acres of agricultur­al land at Kanagal in Nalgonda district, agricultur­al land of eight acres and 40 guntas at Janampet in Mahbubbnag­ar worth `18 lakh, a plot in Hayathnaga­r in RR district worth `2.68 lakh, two plots in Lingojigud­a worth `20.4 lakh, two plots in Rock Town Colony, Mansooraba­d worth `1.06 crore, a plot at Kothuru in Mahbubnaga­r worth Rs 1 lakh, three plots at Jedcherla worth `49,500, a plot in Saraswathi­nagar worth `4.17 lakh, a plot in Vanaparthi, gold ornaments weighing 956 gm worth `20 lakh, `1.66 lakh, `23.36 lakh in bank accounts, LIC policies worth `3.52 lakh, a Ford car, a Maruti car and electronic gadgets.

“The documented value of the above properties is approximat­ely `3.41 crore. The market value of the properties is approximat­ely `10 crore,” said DGP Purnachand­ar Rao.
