KHAMMAM MP TOPS SPENDING OF FUND

Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy stood first by spending 98.3 per cent of MPLADS funds against the state average of 81.08 per cent. Mr Anand Bhaskar took the first spot among Rajya Sabha members by spending 98.67 per cent against the state average of 83.09.

Zaheerabad Lok Sabha member B.B. Patil spent the lost of 60.98 per cent.

According to a report prepared by the TS planning department each Lok Sabha MP is entitled to `20 crore up to 2017-18, Nalgonda MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy received the highest funds to the tune of `17.5; Chevella MP K. Vishweshwa­r Reddy and Zaheerabad’s B.B. Patil received the lowest funds at `5 crore according to records.

Late Rajya Sabha MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy received the highest funds `25 crore and TRS MP V. Lakshmikan­ta Rao the lowest funds of `2.50 crore.

According to MPLADS rules the annual entitlemen­t of `5 crore shall be released in two equal instalment­s. For the release of the second instalment, the unsanction­ed amount from the first tranche should be less than `1 crore and unspent balance less than `2.5 crore.

The state government has sent proposals for the 10 constituen­cies — Chevella, Zaheerabad, Bhongir, Malkajgiri, Adilabad, Khammam, Secunderab­ad, Mahbubabad, Nagarkurno­ol and Warangal — for release of funds and expects `25 crore from the Centre.
