UNTRAINED TEACHERS ASKED TO PULL UP THEIR SOCKS

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, OCT. 11

Untrained teachers should not be allowed to continue to work in schools and teachers working in private schools should be trained under National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

According to G. Kishan, director of school education (DSE), only 4,019 teachers are enrolled till date for the teacher training, recommended by the HRD ministry, and only 2,062 teachers have paid the fees. The management associations have been asked to produce the attendance registers for verification by the mandal-level teams and advised them not to misuse the provision.

There are 3.5 lakh TET qualified persons available and the private schools are directed to appoint only TET-qualified teachers. DSE has also told private school management associations that TET exam will be conducted every year to improve quality of education in the state.
