FARMERS WORRIED ON PHARMA CITY LAND COMPENSATION

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, OCT. 11

Farmers, who will lose their land due to the proposed Pharma City, are worried over the `12.5 lakh per acre compensation offered by the Telan-gana government. Vinod Reddy, a farmer from Kurmidda, said that land rates in villages were in the range of `20 to 30 lakh per acre.

“We wanted to buy alternate lands. But everywhere they are asking `20 lakh per acre. The rate offered under the compensation is just over 50 per cent of the market rate,” he said.

Meanwhile, some locals expressed concerns over losing livelihood due to the proposed Pharma City.
