Ex­cise of­fi­cial sent on re­mand

Hy­der­abad: Adavalli Srini­vasa Reddy, as­sis­tant com­mis­sioner, dis­til­leries, ex­cise depart­ment, who was booked un­der the Preven­tion of Cor­rup­tion Act by the ACB, was re­manded to 14 days in jail on Thursday. The sleuths said that the ac­cused de­manded money for trans­fer­ring of­fi­cers as he was in-charge of the ad­min­is­tra­tive wing. Na­gen­der Rao, ACB in­spec­tor, said, “The ac­cused amassed wealth from trans­fers as he was in­charge of the depart­ment . He col­lected monthly from liquor shops and brew­eries in Patancherru . Ear­lier, he re­ceived money from mi­nor liquor out­lets in Med­chal dis­trict as he worked as ex­cise su­per­in­ten­dant. Ass­ests worth `5.50 cr was seized from his home.
