SRISAILAM GATES OPENED

On the back of continuing inflows, two gates of the Srisailam dam were lifted on Thursday morning to release 55,966 cusecs of water to Nagarjunasagar. AP minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao lifted the two gates up to 10 ft. The dam was receiving 1,30,238 cusecs of water from both the Krishna and Tungabadhra rivers. Water at the dam stood at 884.80 ft against the full reservoir level of 885 ft. Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Rao said water was being released as per the guidelines of the Central Water Commission (CWC).
