MINOR’S DIGNITY

The Supreme Court’s judgement that sex with one’s minor wife is illegal and will be considered rape is hardly surprising since child marriage by itself is unlawful. While some orthodox families marry off their girl children early, the child-bride remains with her parents till she becomes a major. The SC ruling will help enforce the law and is welcome. V.
