INDIA, U.K. CLASH AT MEETING ON DISARMAMENT
GENEVA, OCT. 12. India and Britain clashed at yesterday’s session of the Geneva disarmament conference here on the meaning of the term non-proliferation.
The British delegate, Mr. Fred Mulley, joined General E.L.M. Burns of Canada, who spoke last week, in rejecting India’s contention that it included a cut-off in nuclear weapons production by the nuclear powers.
The delegate said the whole debate on non-proliferation had proceeded on the basis that to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons is to stop an increase in the number of States possessing them. — Reuter.
