3-day Police Expo kicks off

The Police Expo on the occasion of the Indian Police Martyrs Memorial Run (IPMMR) 2017 was inaugurate­d at LB Indoor Stadium on Saturday by home minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy along with DGP Anurag Sharma.

The expo has 21 stalls from different police wings and other agencies in the country.

Live demos of defensive police tactics by Cyberabad police and silent drill by the I and VIII Battalions of the Telangana State Special Police (TSSP) were the special attraction­s during the inaugurati­on.

The three-day expo is organised by the Telangana state police in collaborat­ion with the Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organisati­ons. Police wings from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Maharastra, Kerala, CRPF, BSF, National Security Guards and ITBP will be participat­ing in the Martyrs Run on Sunday.

Mr Nayani Narsimha Reddy said that the Telangana police is hailed all over country and the other states are following the policing methods of the state.

“The state police is adopting advanced tactics to counter new crimes and challenges to maintain law and order,” the minister said.

DGP Mr Anurag Sharma said, “There is a good response to the run. So far, the registrati­ons have crossed 6,000.”

The run on Sunday will be conducted in three different categories; 2K, 5K and 10K, starting from People’s Plaza on Necklace Road.
