Kodandaram to rally unemployed

TJAC chairman Prof. M. Kodandaram has vowed to continue his Amarula Spoorthy Yatra from November. The yatra is aimed at remembering Tmartyrs who sacrificed their lives for achieving statehood to Telangana.

He said the TRS government had been disrupting the yatra ever since he launched it in June this year by using excessive police force and arresting him on his way to the districts from Hyderabad

Prof. Kodandaram said he had filed a case in High Court against the government denying him permission to conduct yatra and the judgement is awaited on November 8.

“Based on court orders, I will resume my yatra in November,” he said.

The TJAC steering committee met here on Sunday to discuss about future course of action on antipeople, anti-student and anti-farmer policies of TRS government.

Prof. Kodandaram alleged that the lopsided agriculture policies of the state government was pushing farmers to suicides.

“The state government had failed to ensure MSP for farmers and no steps were taken in the past 40 months to increase income of farmers. While tall claims are being made by government on development of agriculture and welfare of farmers, nothing is visible at the ground level. Farmers continue to suffer heavy losses and commit suicides every day unable to bear debt burden and crop loss,” he noted.

He said TJAC would hold ‘koluvula kotlaata’ (fight for jobs), a rally with students in the city on October 30, to highlight the unemployment problem and the government's failure in releasing recruitment notifications.
