STUDENTS RESORT TO FAKE PROJECT REPORTS

- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, OCT. 29

Students are banking on agencies and fake project reports to get a seat in foreign universities.

Ashwin Naidu of S9 Consultancy said, “Students who apply for masters in engineering abroad have to submit the final project report. There have been many instances of students buying fake reports from Shamirpet for `5,000.”

Many students are denied visas after they fail to talk about their project during the interview.

“The final project report is crucial for an engineering student. Purchasing the project should end,” added Ashwin.

“Plagiarism is perhaps the biggest evil and many students submit past reports while applying online. Unless an agency does a proper verification step, they will never know it,” said Manu Prasad, an education consultant.

Teachers complained of students making using of online service providers who type term papers.

Prof. Mr Srinavsulu Rao said, “Students often make use of technology for their projects. Now we have the plagiarism check on applications. Many exams are conducted online. Students often open another tab and do a quick check before answering the questions.”

“What is the point of going abroad with false credits and projects? The curriculum will not be easy to cope with. There will not be anyone to spoon-feed them,” noted Mr Manu.
