Why not ‘Modi & KCR kits’: BJP

- PILLALAMARRI SRINIVAS I DC MANCHERIAL, OCT. 29

The BJP would focus on getting the state government to change the names of welfare schemes being implemented with the help of the Central funds. This would be done to give the Centre due credit for welfare schemes being implemented in the state.

Special campaigns would be taken up to create awareness among the people that most of the welfare schemes being implemented by the TRS government were made possible with funding from the Modi government.

The BJP leaders said the the TRS was giving publicity to ‘KCR kits” and financial assistance to pregnant women if they delivered at government hospitals after regular checkups. The BJP leaders said it should be called ‘KCR and Modi kits’ as the Centre was contributing to the scheme.

The same was the case with the 2BHK houses for the poor; the state government had never revealed that the Centre was contributing a share of the cost of the project.

Other examples were the `1 kg rice for the poor and health schemes, which were funded by the Centre.

BJP state president Dr K. Laxman told this newspaper that the party would highlight the failure schemes taken up in the state such providing three acres land for Dalits and land development scheme for the SC and STs and 2BHK and creating employment or recruiting staff in the government sector as the TRS had promised in its 2014 manifesto.

A two-day BJP state executive committee meeting was held at Mandamarri in Mancherial districts.
