Actor claims conspiracy after drug charges rapped
Washington, Oct. 31: An arrest warrant has been issued against actor Rose McGowan, one of the women accusing Harvey Weinstein of rape, for possession of a controlled substance. The actor called the charges “a load of horsesh**,” the
Washington Post reported. In January, McGowan had allegedly left behind a set of “personal belongings” on a flight that “tested positive for narcotics,” police told the Post.
Police had obtained a warrant for her arrest in February but she hasn't yet been served.
McGowan tweeted that she learnt about the warrant only on Monday and suggested it could somehow be related to her rape accusations against Weinstein. “Are they trying to silence me?” she asked. “There is a warrant out for my arrest in Virginia. What a load of HORSES**T (sic),” she tweeted.
While McGowan did not comment on the allegations, in a tweet she suggested the arrest warrant wouldn’t have been a public issue if she’d have “taken the million dollars in hush money” from Weinstein.
She had earlier told the New York Times she was offered $1million by someone close to Weinstein in return for signing a nondisclosure agreement.
