FOOT-OVER BRIDGE LIKELY TO COME UP AT RAIDURGAM

A foot-over bridge is likely to come up at Raidurgam, benefittin­g thousands of techies working in Divyasree NSL Orion SEZ. Crossing the busy road to access public transport is proving to be difficult to the employees.

A software employee, Mr Praveen Kumar, tweeted about the problem to minister K.T.Rama Rao, who replied, “Need a signal & FoB. Take this up immediatel­y (sic)”.

Speaking to this newspaper, Mr Kumar said that there were some serious incidents in the past. While Mr Kumar requested for a pedestrian signal, Mr Rama Rao said that a signal and a foot-over bridge will be needed. The GHMC officials noted down the minister’s direction, and Mr Kumar hoped that the issue will be addressed. Aspirants of teachers’ recruitmen­t test have demanded withdrawal of the discrimina­tory percentage in marks in degree and intermedia­te qualificat­ions.

The aspirants wanted to allow the candidates, who have BEd and DEd degrees along with TET holders, to apply for the recruitmen­t test.

R Ragini, an aspirant, said, “Earlier, we were allowed to apply and complete the teacher training even with 40 per cent marks at the intermedia­te. The rules were changed two years back.”

“According to the GO number 25, we are not allowed to apply for the test. We request the Telangana government to allow us to apply for test by making amendments. We also want to withdraw the discrimina­tory condition percentage in degree and intermedia­te qualificat­ions,” she added.
