Naqvi cautions parties on K
Hyderabad, Nov. 4: It is unfortunate that some political parties are speaking the language of separatists on the Kashmir issue, Union minister for minority affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.
“Anybody, especially political parties, should not speak anything which helps the forces working against the country. It is unfortunate that some political parties and some people are speaking the language of separatists on the Kashmir issue,” a statement quoted Naqvi as saying at an event.
National security is not an issue of rajneeti (politics) but a matter of rashtraneeti (national policy) for the BJP, he said.
“We have a clear policy on the issue of national security. We cannot compromise on the issue of national security and national interests,” he said.
The Narendra Modi government is working with commitment for 'Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat', Mr Naqvi said.
“We should not allow any conspiracy to succeed in disturbing the country's unity,” he said.
Mr Naqvi, who was speaking at an event to mark Gurpurab here, said Guru Nanak Devji Maharaj’s message of tolerance, harmony, peace and brotherhood is even more relevant today.
India is an example of “unity in diversity” and the culture of tolerance, harmony, peace and brotherhood is at the core of all religions, he said.
