Tanay hammers big ton

Tanay Thyagaraja­n smacked an emphatic knock of 152 not out on Saturday and boosted Hyderabad’s score to 428 against Odisha in the Col. C. K. Nayudu Trophy Under-23 match played at Gymkhana Grounds.

Hyderabad resumed at their overnight score of 208 for 7 and Tanay came in at number 8 to steal Saturday’s limelight. The left-handed batsman’s 221 balls knock included 14 boundaries and a six.

A. Jayasuriya contribute­d 41 for Hyderabad while Preet Singh Chouhan picked four wickets and D. Pradhan took two wickets for Odisha.

In reply, Odisha were reeling at 85 for 6 by the end of the day’s play. P. Prashanth Reddy picked three wickets for hosts.

Trisha anchors Hyderabad’s win

G. Trisha of Hyderabad shone with bat and ball as Hyderabad sealed a comfortabl­e seven-wicket-victory over Karnataka in the South Zone Women’s Under-19 One-Day League match.

Elected to bat, Karnataka were bowled out for mere 122 as Trisha snapped four wickets while conceding just 18 runs. Vanka Pooja was the other bowler who took two wickets. Karnataka’s Aditi Rajesh hit and unbeaten 55 which went in vain.

Hyderabad in response, chased the target in 26.5 overs with the loss of three wickets. G. Trisha and Trisha Poojitha contribute­d 52 and 22 respective­ly which gave Hyderabad an easy win.
