Education must, Muslims told
Education and economic upliftment of the Muslim community is important as the community is presently fighting against saffronisation of education, tampering of history and communal hatred, said the leaders in a national conference held in the city on Saturday.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, in a written message, stated that education must be given prime importance by families and they must enrol themselves in the various programmes of scholarships which are being given by the government.
Dr K.T. Jaleel, deputy minister for Kerala for local self- government and minorities said, “With the drastic changes in the social scenario it is become important for Muslims to find their path of progress, be more tolerant and have a brotherly vision.”
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and MP Asaduddin Owaisi accused the government at the Centre for not allowing the youth of the community youth to move forward and accused the other socalled parties in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Assam of keeping the community behind as education percentage has fallen from what it was. Opposition Leader in the Council Mr Mohammed Ali Shabbir urged for reservations as he claimed that it would help the community.
