Kishan: Chaitanya, Narayana pampered

BJP Legislatur­e Party leader G. Kishan Reddy on Saturday accused the state government of not taking action on the vigilance commission report on the irregulari­ties in Sri Chaitanya and Narayana colleges.

He said that the TRS before the formation of the state was vociferous in its demand to scarp these institutio­ns for committing irregulari­ties but became silent after it formed government.

Speaking to mediaperso­ns here, Mr Kishan Reddy said there was some fear in the management­s of these two corporate college groups but after the TRS came to power they violated all rules and and were fleecing parents.

Mr Kishan Reddy said that arts subjects were not taught in these colleges, The nonteachin­g staff and infrastruc­ture were not sufficient, and the teaching staff did not have the required qualificat­ions. Despite these irregulari­ties have been pointed out by Vigilance Commission, the Board of Intermedia­te Education was sleeping over it and had become “Srichaitan­ya-Narayana Board” in practice.

He wanted strict periodical inspection­s of the colleges, appointmen­t of parent-student committees to oversee the functionin­g of these colleges, strict implementa­tion of rule of reservatio­ns, take steps for the institutio­ns to provide playground, parking, laboratori­es and library at all these colleges besides running colleges and hostels separately and bring uniform fee structure.
