MANTRIS TO FOCUS ON FIGHT AGAINST GRAFT

Ministers in the Modi government will fan across the country over the next two days to highlight the crackdown on black money to mark the first anniversar­y of demonetisa­tion on November 8.

The Centre is all set to project the demonetisa­tion exercise as a major victory against black money ahead of the first anniversar­y of the decision on November 8. Several top Union ministers and BJP leaders, led by finance minister Arun Jaitley, will travel to all the four metros as well as other major cities as part of a major media blitzkrieg to spread the message of the move’s benefits a year down the line.

The entire exercise is aimed at countering the united Opposition’s nationwide protests which it has planned across India against demonetisa­tion on November 8.

During the next two days, while Mr Jaitley will hold an “Anti-Black Money Day” press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday (November 7), on the same day chemical and fertiliser­s minister Ananth Kumar, law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and minority affairs minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi will simultaneo­usly hold media interactio­ns in Hyderabad, Bhopal and Amritsar respective­ly.

On November 8, the first anniversar­y of the demonetisa­tion exercise, three Union ministers - highways minister Nitin Gadkari, commerce minister Suresh Prabhu and HRD minister Prakash Javadekar - will hold press conference­s in Mumbai, Jaipur and Bengaluru.
