55-YR-OLD MAN HIT BY 2-WHEELER, DEAD

Hyderabad: A 55-year-old man died after he was hit by a twowheeler in Chaitanyapuri on Wednesday night. K. Peeraih, a businessman in Aayat Nagar, was hit by a two-wheeler on November 5, leaving him with a chest injury. After a while, he got up and went back to his house. On Tuesday, when he again felt a pain in his chest, he went to a private hospital for treatment from where he was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital on the same day. On Thursday, the medics declared him dead. The police has registered a case under Section 304A of IPC. The Banjara Hills police arrested a Tollywood character artiste, Venkat Prasad, for cheating a woman with whom he was allegedly in a relationship.

Venkat Prasad had refused to marry the victim, 35, with whom he was allegedly in a relationship.

The police said that Prasad and the woman were in a relationship from the past five years. He had also promised to marry her. The woman was forced to lodge a complaint after he began to avoid her from the past few months.

“When the victim asked Prasad to marry her, he refused and threatened to kill her and her family. The victim also in her complaint mentioned that Prasad was planning to getting married to some other woman,” Banjara Hills inspector, K. Srinivas said.

According to police, Venkat is a programming manager in a private movie theatre. Based on the victim’s complaint, Prasad was arrested and sent to remand on Thursday.

Prasad reportedly did a brief role as Prabha’s (Shivudu) father in the blockbuster movie Bahuballi.
