KANNA-VANI SPAT, MAYOR INTERVENES

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Kanna Yadhav, who was accused by a GHMC officer for using abusive language on Wednesday, planned to hold a press conference to give his version of the case booked against him by the GHMC section officer. But Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan intervened and got the press conference cancelled.

Section officer G. Vani who has been in the Ameerpet circle office for just two months, told Deccan Chronicle: “Kanna Yadhav used filthy language to shoo me off from the illegal under-construction site. He asked me ‘How dare you enter into my locality?’ I used a single abusive word against him. This was recorded by one of his henchmen and that is the video Kanna Yadhav wanted to present before the media against me. Earlier, too, when officials responded to complaints against Yadhav, they would be suppressed with threats.”

Sources in the GHMC circle office revealed that Kanna Yadhav had asked for a list of builders taking up construction work in Kachiguda. The list was sought from the circle town planning section and Mr Yadav directed the officials to ask the builders to meet him.

It is also alleged that a 340 sq yard plot in Nimboliadda has been split into two plots and an illegal construction is coming up there backed by Mr Yadav who is the husband of TRS corporator from Kuchiguda, A Chaitanya Kanna.

Kanna Yadhav, his corporator wife and Ms Vani presented their case before the Mayor, who on hearing of the press meet intervened and cancelled it.
