Appoint Urdu officers in 40 days: KCRdraws deadline

Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao on Monday directed officials to appoint 66 Urdu officers within 40 days in important government offices starting from Assembly, the Chief Minister’s Office and the offices of Cabinet ministers and collectors to encourage Urdu correspond­ence and to reply in Urdu to petitions received from the public in the language.

Mr Rao asked Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari to visit Maharashtr­a to study the system and recommend measures to be taken for the promotion of Urdu.

He asked Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali to visit Rajasthan to speed up of constructi­on of the rubaat in Ajmer for the benefit of pilgrims from Telangana state visiting the famous dargah.

He asked the officials to formulate programmes for self employment of minorities without having any linkage to the banks to extend subsidised loans.

At a review meeting on minorities welfare held at Pragathi Bhavan, Mr Rao said like that SCs/STs, the minorities should get the benefits welfare programmes. For this the minority welfare officials should have meetings with the SC/ST welfare officials and chalk out an action plan.

Mr Rao said that clear instructio­ns should be given to officials to introduce Urdu in all the government and public sector undertakin­gs recruitmen­t entrance exams.
