KCR adds to Yadadri plans

Town to be municipali­ty, get ORR, water facilities and more security

Chief Minister K. Chandrasek­har Rao on Friday directed officials to issue orders declaring Yadagiri village as a municipali­ty keeping in view the future expansion and developmen­t plans of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple there

Mr Rao sanctioned `143 crore for a seven-km Outer Ring Road around the Yadadri temple city.

Mr Rao along with his family members visited the Yadadri temple and checked the progress of developmen­t works at the temple complex.

The CM announced the formation of the Armed Reserve headquarte­rs of the Rachakonda police at Yadadri so that the services of 100-150 armed constables will be available for visiting VVIPs and pilgrims.

The CM instructed that the roads from Rayagiri, Turkapally, Vangapalli, Rajapet, Keesara to Yadadri should be made into double lane roads and should be built to high standards.

He wanted speeding up of works on the parallel bridge from Rayagiri to Yadadri. Besides laying a double road from Vangapalli to Yadadri, a rail over bridge should be constructe­d on the Secunderab­ad-Kazipet railway line, Mr Chandrasek­har Rao said.

He gave some suggestion­s on the developmen­t works that are taking place below the hill in 143 acres of land acquired by the government. He wanted 40 acres to be earmarked for organising pravachana­ms during the Brahmotsav­am. It should accommodat­e about 2 lakh devotees comfortabl­y, he said.

The CM also examined the works taken up on 1,200 acres on a hill abetting the temple hill. Roads have been laid in 250 acres in the first phase.

“There will be surge of VIPs. About 100 to 150 armed police should be available all the time. For this, set up Rachakonda AR headquarte­rs in Yadadri. We have sanctioned an exclusive ACP office for Yadadri and a police station for the temple city. We are allocating 50 acres for the police department to have its offices and quarters, Mr Rao said.

He said there would be a huge demand for drinking water both from locals and visiting devotees. Every day about 15 to 20 lakh litres of water would be required.

He instructed officials to develop Pedda Cheruvu at Rayagiri and Gandi Cheruvu in Yadadri under Mission Kakatiya.

Mr Chandrasek­har Rao wanted pipelines laid under Mission Bhagiratha supply to water to the temple town.

He said several donors had come forward to sponsor the constructi­on of Presidenti­al Suites. He said `50 crore had been received so far.

“Start the constructi­on of cottages at the Presidenti­al Suites. Construct cottages in the temple town under `2 crore, `1 crore, `50 lakh, `25 lakh categories and invite the donors,” the Chief Minister said.
