A student of Sri Chaitanya Junior College, Bachupally, allegedly attempted suicide by jumping off the college building after being caught copying in the examinations.

Rajeswari, a native of Nizamabad district, is an Intermediate II year student of the college. She was reportedly caught trying to copy answers from slips of paper on Thursday. The invigilator took her answer sheet away and reprimanded her for cheating.

The girl, who was extremely upset by this, ran out of the classroom and jumped off the top of the building. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, and her parents were informed about the incident. Luckily, she escaped with minor injuries and is said to be out of danger.

The girl’s father, Raji Reddy, enquired with the college management regarding the details of the incident. However, he did not approach the police to file a complaint. When the police contacted him, he said that his daughter had slipped and accidentally fallen from the building.

“The parents were not willing to file a complaint. If a complaint is filed, we can take action,” said an official from Bachupally police station.
