TELUGU MEET: TS TO BEAR INVITEES’ COST
Only delegates invited by the Telangana government from India and abroad for the ensuing World Telugu Conference will get free travel and accommodation.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, who is heading the cabinet sub-committee on making preparations for WTC, said the TS government had invited 37 delegates from abroad and 56 from various states in the country, for whom the government will bear travel and accommodation costs.
The committee held a meeting at Secretariat to review the arrangements for WTC.
“We have launched offline and online registration facility for delegates to register their names for the event. The offline mode was available from November 1 to 7 and online mode from November 7 to December 5. About 7,920 delegates have registered their names. Of them, 160 delegates are from 40 countries and 1,167 are from various states in the country. The remaining 6,000 delegates are from Telangana,” Mr Srihari said.
He added that the government will bear accommodation costs for delegates coming from other states.
For delegates attending from Telangana, the government will not provide travel or accommodation costs but is making arrangments to provide lunch at the venue.
However, Mr Srihari said that all those who love Telugu language, culture, arts, traditions etc are invited for WTC being held at LB Stadium in the city for five days from December 15 to 19.
