AIYAR’S SELF-GOAL
Your reference to the adage (Aiyar was wrong, and got what he deserved, Dec. 9) ‘A wise enemy is better than a foolish friend’ best explains the queer fish that Mr Mani Shankar Aiyar is. His loud mouth coupled with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘supari’ allegations are bound to sound the death-knell for the Congress in Gujarat.
M.S. Suresh Secunderabad Loose talk by political bigwigs, particularly Mr Aiyar, is not a new feature. Several leaders called each other names. His suspension appears to be a political move, and it may be revoked too. Mr Aiyar should use his intelligence and energy for the good of the country. M.V.K.V. Sarma
Kothagudem The despicable rant of Mr Aiyar warrants condemnation since denigration of the Prime Minister tantamounts to insulting the country. Mr Aiyar and others like him need to be censured for their arrogance. Congress leaders through such rants have scored a self-goal.
R.V. Reddy Secunderabad The verbal duel between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is disgusting. Mr Modi as the Prime Minister must be dignified and live up to his status. Col V.P. Shrinivasan (Retd)
Secunderabad The abuse indulged in by Mr Aiyar is more than enough for Mr Modi to turn into votes. The Congress woke up quickly, but the damage seems to have been done. K. Venkata Ramana Rao
