Cops solve one year-old kidnapping case, 6 held

The Special Operations Team of Rachakonda on Monday solved a year-old kidnap case, in which the director of a private school was kidnapped by unidentifi­ed persons who demanded a ransom of `1 crore for his release.

Police arrested six members of the gang, while the kingpin Gaddi Sadanand, who runs a software consultanc­y firm and planned the kidnap, is still absconding. Police also recovered one pistol, six rounds of live ammunition, three cars, one gold chain and a passport from their possession.

The sleuths of SOT, Rachakonda, on credible informatio­n, apprehende­d six persons for kidnapping the Director of Pallavi Model School, Boduppal, under the limits of Medipally PS. The police seized one pistol with 6 live rounds, three cars, one gold chain, a passport and 6 mobile phones from their possession.

DCP Malkajgiri Ch.R. Umamaheswa­r Sharma said that the victim Susheel, who is the director of Pallavi Model School at Boduppal, was kidnapped by unidentifi­ed suspects in December 2016. They demanded `1 crore as ransom from him. But when he expressed his helplessne­ss saying that he could not arrange the amount due to demonetisa­tion and promised to arrange the amount later, based on his assurance, they released him with a deadline to pay the money.

But when he did not meet the deadline, they started pressurisi­ng him and threatenin­g him for the money.

Unable to bear the harassment from his kidnappers, Susheel approached te cops. Based on credible informatio­n, the police nabbed the suspects on Sunday.

Inquiries revealed that the gang was trying to kidnap Susheel since September 2016.

Sadanand and Santosh, after incurring losses in the real estate business, hatched the kidnap plan and gathered the suspects.

They first rented a room at Keesara to in which to place Susheel after the kidnap. They also rented a car for shifting him and kept monkey caps ready and a baton light.

In December 2016, while Susheel was leaving the school, they intercepte­d his car, posing as cops.

They dumped him in their car and drove to Keesara, where he was confined to a room and assaulted him at gunpoint.

Later after Susheel agreed to pay the ransom without the knowledge of his family and police, they released him. But when he did not comply with the deadline, they stole his car from his home. While they were planning to sell the car to a prospectiv­e buyer, cops nabbed them.

The DCP said that Sadanand and his wives were involved in various cases of forgery and cheating.

Under interrogat­ion, Santhosh voluntaril­y confessed that Sadanand alias Nandu owned a license to possess a pistol and the same was given to him.

He also informed that Sadanand aka Nandu took 10 lakh rupees loan through Axis Bank in the name of Rajukumar aka Sunny by submitting all fake, forged and fabricated documents.

Nandu’s wives Sireesha and Sapna area also involved in the case as they are well aware of the kidnapping. It also came to light that Nandu’s wives had taken lakhs of rupees as personal loans by submitting fake documents as they are employees of GRAF Technology.

The investigat­ion is in progress and everything will be verified. The arrested persons were sent to remand.
