Call data of suspects involved in the murder of Nalgonda MLA Venkatreddy’s aide Boddupally Srinivas has triggered a controversy. Records showed that the brothers of TRS MLA Vemula Veeresham, Vemula Ranjith and Vemula Sudheer made several calls to the prime accused Rambabu and another accused M. Mallesh before and after the murder of Srinivas on January 24 night in Nalgonda town.

Meanwhile, huge police force has been deployed in the area in view of the death ceremony of Srinivas that will take place in Nalgonda today. Senior congress leaders and party followers in huge numbers are expected to participate.

Call data records of the Vemula brothers show that they had conversations with the suspects on various occasions prior to the murder. It raises suspicion that the murder plan was plotted long ago and they had been waiting for a right time to execute their plan.

few minutes prior to the murder of Srinivas, main accused Chintakunta Rambabu had spoken to MLA Veeresham’s brother Ranjith several times and after the murder also, the suspects spoke to Ranjith and Sudheer. The call records show several conversations between the MLA and his brothers before the murder.

Ranjith had several conversations with another accused M. Mallesh, before the murder. There were also calls from one Merugu Gopi’s number to Srinivas and the Vemula brothers before and after the murder. Gopi had called Srinivas for help saying that he was in trouble.

With the leaked call data details, police is now in dilemma over the investigation. From the time of investigation, the Nalgonda police had been facing severe criticism on the way the investigation is being conducted and even after the suspects were arrested, Congress leaders and the wife of Srinivas accused police of lapses in investigation and alleged that it is not being done in a fair manner.

According to sources, the police is likely to question the Vemula brothers in connection with the case and their relation with the suspects involved in the murder.

After a week of arresting the suspects, the police is now likely to take them into custody for questioning.

The brothers Ranjith and Sudheer denied their role in the murder and said that they knew Rambabu and Mallesh since long time.

“Mallesh approached me to help him get anticipatory bail but I suggested him to surrender before the police. I advised him to get the FIR copy and remand report so that I can try for a bail after he surrenders before the police,” Ranjith said.

Scores of Congress activists have already started pouring in Nalgonda town for Srinivas’ death ceremony.
