LAW STUDENT BEATEN TO DEATH IN ALLAHABAD

A 26-year-old law student was beaten to death by a group of men outside a restaurant in Allahabad district on Saturday night.

The student, Dilip Saroj, was admitted to a hospital after he slipped into a coma and he died on Sunday morning.

A video clip that has gone viral on the social media shows the victim being beaten with hockey sticks, broken pipes and bricks outside the restaurant.

The main accused has been identified as Vijay Shankar Singh, an employee with the railways, but no arrests have been made so far.

The video clip was apparently shot by a passerby and shows the victim lying unconscious on the steps of the restaurant while the accused, apparently drunk, are seen beating him mercilessly.
