2 nabbed for cricket betting

Hyderabad: The Commissioner Task Force of North Zone nabbed two persons involved in cricket betting in Begumpet on Sunday. The accused were identified as Bellam Kiran Kumar, 38, and Md Nawaz, 24, of Begumpet. “The accused are cricket bookies who roped in sub-agents and punters to collect money from bettors. They also used Matrix app to make calls about the rates while matches were on,” said Commissioner’s Task Force DCP P. Radhakrishna Rao. The team seized `10, 070 in cash, a set top box, laptop, TV, one betting note book and five mobile phones from the accused.
