Masjid will remain a masjid forever: Body

- ASIF YAR KHAN | DC

The AIMPLB will use every possible method to stall the government from passing the Triple Talaq Bill.

“The Talaq-e-Biddat bill moved by the central government is antiwomen. It will create more difficulties for women. It is against Shariah and it is against the Constitution,” the board felt.

It was decided to continue efforts to stop the bill in the Rajya Sabha. Awareness campaigns against this Bill will be taken up across the country.

“We will coordinate with opposition parties who are opposing the bill. Country-wide, women’s empowerment meetings will be continuously held,” said Maulana Umrain Mahfooz Rahmani, Secretary AIMPLB.

About ‘nikahnama’, Secretary, AIMPLB Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, said that they had already submitted a sample in court.

“The board has a proposal for social boycott of persons who given instant ‘talaq’. A massive campaign is also being planned across the country to create awareness,” Maulana Saifullah said.

He added that they will be organising orientation programmes about talaq for those getting married.

“If talaaq is criminalised, women will suffer as men will not give talaq and the women will be tortured,” Saifullah said.

In regard to Babri Masjid, the board felt that it is an essential part of faith in Islam and Muslims can never abdicate the Masjid nor can they exchange land for Masjid or gift the Masjid land.

“The Sharia is quite clear on it. A mosque can be shifted. Several scholars have researched and explored all possible ways. A Masjid is a Masjid and it shall remain a Masjid until eternity. By demolishing Babri Masjid, it never lost its identity as a mosque. And according to Shariah, it always remains a Masjid,” he said.

“Without any doubt, we make it clear that the struggle for the reconstruction of Babri continues and the appeal in Supreme Court is being fought rigorously with all resources available,” he added.

To a question about funds for fighting court cases, AIMIM Chief, Mr Asaduddin Owaisi said, “The country’s top lawyers are fighting for us and Allah will make us successful in the Supreme Court,” he concluded.
