Parents miffed with schools hiking fees

-

Hyderabad: The Parents Association Coordination Committee, Hyderabad have raised their voice against private schools hiking their fees and exploiting parents. This has led to a fall in the standards of private educational institutions. Members claim that despite not having playgrounds, many schools charge sports fee which is economically draining for parents. They also questioned the commercialisation and privatisation of schools undertaken by the government. “Many schools are run by charitable organisations. But, they are hiking their fee on an annual basis which has become difficult for parents. What is the point of education, if it is not feasible for all? We are planning to hold a protest with other parent associations in the city with a hope that at least this time, our pleas reach the government,” says Ravi Kiran, a member.
