23-year-old girl’s suicide a mystery

Hyderabad: A 23-year-old T. Neelam Prasad committed suicide by hanging herself in the bathroom of her residence under Shahinayatgunj police station limits. “Neelam married her boyfriend Akash recently at a local Arya Samaj. Post marriage, the couple came to Kulsumpura police station where both their parents were summoned by the police, to counsel them, to accept their marriage. However, the girl’s father emotionally blackmailed her saying he was a heart patient and needed support. She then agreed to leave with her father,” said Ravinder Reddy, Inspector of police, Shahinayatgunj. The post mortem was conducted at Osmania Hospital and the body was handed over to her parents. The police have booked a case under Sec. 174 of CRPC, (Death under suspicious condition).
