BURGLAR HELD, GOODS WORTH `9L SEIZED

The Gopalapura­m police on Monday arrested a notorious burglar involved in six cases earlier. Police recovered two sports bikes, 18 tola gold and 43 tola of silver items, together worth `9.3 lakh, from him.

The arrest was made after a complaint was filed by one Anthony Joseph, a resident of Regimental Bazaar, whose sports bike got stolen on January 29, North Zone DCP B. Sumathi said. The accused was identified as Thakur Vishal Singh, 21, a resident of Kukatpally and a college dropout.

Following the complaint, police analysed CCTV footage from near the crime scene and collected call data for analysis. Based on clues, police identified the offender as Vishal Singh. He was traced riding the stolen bike near a Gurudwara in Secunderab­ad on Monday morning, and taken into the custody, police said.

The accused was earlier arrested in October 2017 for five house burglary cases.
