Call to file plea in HC on power staff split

The Telangana state electricity employees’ joint action committee, which consists of 10 unions, has demanded that the state government direct TS Transco to file an appeal in the Supreme Court or to file a review petition in the High Court over the latter’s judgement on the bifurcation of employees.

The representatives of the Joint Action Committee met the energy minister, G. Jagadish Reddy, on Monday, at the Secretariat and submitted a memorandum on the issue. They also requested the management of TS Transco to initiate the bifurcation process immediately.

They said that AP ‘native’ employees who were relieved of their posts, should only continue in supernumerary posts and not be given promotions. They requested the management not to contemplate giving reservations to Telangana employees who were promoted in TS power utilities.

They also requested Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, energy minister Jagadish Reddy, and Chief secretary S.K. Joshi, to render justice to Telangana employees.

Meanwhile, the joint action committee decided to organise a Vidyut Udyogula Maha Dharna at Vidyut Soudha on February 15, over the employees’ bifurcation issue.
