Kondapur murder victim Bingee alias Pinkee’s second husband landed in police trap as his plans to leave the city could not be executed for want of money.

Rumours were rife that Vikas had fled the city after Sunday’s marathon police search operation which went to as far as his home state of Bihar. He was taking shelter with his friends running panipuri eateries in different parts of the city and was nabbed by cops from an undisclosed location at Gachibowli.

Amarkanth Jha, who was brought to the city on a transit warrant, was being interrogated and was likely to be produced before the court on Thursday. He told police that he had done everything for ‘his mother’s happiness’.

He was the only son of the Anil Jha-Mamatha couple and was very attached to his mother. Three years ago, he migrated to the city for livelihood. Vikas joined him a few months ago on being sent by Mamatha. Since then, the two had been staying together. After Mamatha and Anil joined them, Amarkanth came to know about the illicit affair between his mother and Vikas, but did not oppose them as they had been earning well.

Moreover, he had a dislike for Bingee as she was from a different community. Bingee sitting idle and others having to support her added to his wrath.

However, it was found that they never harmed Bingee’s son Jatin who lived with her.
