BJP promises `3,000 for unemployed

-

DC CORRESPONDENT BJP state president Dr K. Laxman on Saturday promised to grant `3,000 per month as unemployment allowance to all the unemployed youth in the state if the party comes to power.

Addressing ‘Nirudyoga Yuva Garjana’ (Unemployed Youth’s Convention) here on Saturday, Dr Laxman said that for the last four years, the TRS government had completely forgotten its promise to provide jobs to each and every household in the state.

He said the government not only failed to provide any assistance to the unemployed youth but also did not take any steps to fill up the 1.07 lakh vacancies in the government sector and allowed the vacancies to rise to three lakhs now.

Dr Laxman said the BJP will not keep quiet and will agitate against the government, putting pressure to fill up the vacancies at least now.

The BJP state unit president said that not a single D.Sc selection to recruit teachers took place during the last four years in the state which only shows how scanty respect is shown by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to the unemployed in the state.

Dr Laxman said the crisis among unemployed has risen in the state with the TRS government merging 5,000 odd schools, closing down 200 engineering colleges and 700 degree colleges in the state.

He said such anti-youth policies adopted by the TRS government in the state makes the unemployed restless and some even resorted to extreme steps like committing suicide.

Dr Laxman criticised the state government for not releasing money to the National Employment Guarantee Scheme and increasing the crisis of unemployment in rural areas.
