Real e-governance is the 3Es: KTR

India, which is currently still considered a third world country, can become a first world country, if we harness the power of informatio­n technology, said minister K.T. Rama Rao, speaking at the inaugural session of the 21st National conference on E-governance held at HICC on Monday.

The Department of Administra­tive Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Union government, along with the ministry of electronic­s and informatio­n technology, Union government, in associatio­n with the Telangana government, is conducting a two-day conference on e-governance.

Mr Rao said, “e-governance is more than just electronic governance. It has to have 3E’s – Easy, Efficient and Effective. People have to accept it from their perspectiv­e, only then real e-governance can be achieved.”

Minister Rao spoke about several initiative­s, including Mission Bhagiratha, T-Fiber, TS-iPass and apps like RTA m-wallet and T-wallet.

Meanwhile, Mr C.R. Chaudhary, Union minister of state for consumer affairs, said, “He said 1,10,000 lakh gram panchayats in India have been connected with optical fibre. With digitisati­on 2.95 crore of ghost ration cards were removed from the system and the highly-subsidised food grains are going to genuine beneficiar­ies.”
