The untimely demise of the most charismati­c female actor Sridevi leaves a vacuum in the tinsel world (From charming child to Lady Superstar, Feb. 26). Secunderab­ad The sudden and untimely passing of Sridevi is a monumental loss to the Indian film industry. Her versatilit­y in a series of diverse roles has been universall­y acknowledg­ed and admired as it reflected the ground realities. She struck a reasonable balance between the demands of cinema as an art form and the dictates of the box office. Hyderabad With the sudden demise of Sridevi, the film fraternity has lost a very versatile actor who played a memorable role in Mr India and many other films. No wonder along with her millions of fans even President, PM and other netas have paid their tribute. It is, however, unfortunat­e that they ignored to pay their homage to great freedom fighter Dr Abul Kalam Azad whose death was on 22 February. N.
