Bus yatra aimed at obstructing projects: TRS

- DC CORRESPONDENT

The ruling TRS on Wednesday slammed the Congress and the BJP, terming both the national parties as ‘anti-farmer’.

It also came down heavily on the ‘Bus Yatra’ undertaken by T-Congress leaders and alleged that the yatra was aimed at obstructing the irrigation projects and development programmes being implemented by the TRS government.

The government whip in TS Legislative Council Palla Rajeshwar Reddy took strong objection to Congress MLA D.K. Aruna’s remarks who termed Rythu Samanvaya Samithis as Rowdy Samanvaya Samithis.

“This proves beyond doubt that the Congress has no love or respect for farmers. They call rythus as rowdies, which is highly objectionable. The TRS dem-ands that the Congress should tender an unconditional apology for making such derogatory remarks against farmers,” Mr Reddy said.

He accused Mr Modi of running the country against the spirit of federalism guaranteed in the Constitution. “The Congress which ruled the country for 40 years and BJP, which is ruling the country for the past four years have failed to resolve any issue concerning farmers. Now, the T-Congress leaders are taking a bus yatra for which there is no public support. Congress leaders are providing free entertainment to people with this yatra by quarrelling in public to gain an upper hand over the others,” Mr Reddy said.

TS Legislative Council chief whip, Mr Paturi Sudhakar Reddy, termed the bus yatra as a fight between the Congress leaders for selfish political interests. “In the last elections, their national leader Rahul Gandhi promised `2 lakh crop loan waiver during his Telangana tour. But no one believed him. They voted for the TRS which promised a loan waiver of `1 lakh. The same thing will be repeated in 2019 elections as no one is believing the promises made by T-Congress leaders in the bus yatra,” Mr Paturi said.

TRS Narayankhed MLA Mr Bhoopal Reddy said the Congress leaders should be booked under Section 420 for trying to cheat farmers with false promise of `2 lakh crop loan waiver.
