Plans for 3D model of Amaravati

- S.N.C.N. ACHARYULU | DC

The AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has decided have a 3D model of Amaravati constructed. Tenders will soon be called for from 3D model-makers.

Officials of the CRDA say that a 3D model depicting the master plan for the capital city can be used to showcase and explain various concepts to stakeholders including government officials, researchers and the public. The Authority plans to engage a 3D model-maker for fabrication of the model as per international standards.

The proposed 3D model will be constructed on the basis of the latest master plan for the capital city, at a 1:4000 scale. It will be approximately 20 x 20 in size, with cut-outs at the corners to improve visibility. It will be fabricated using the latest technologies such as 3D printing.

The model will be built in the form of modular blocks, so that changes may easily be incorporated. There will be a glasscovered wooden base that will accommodate the individual blocks. This will also make it easy for the model to be transported and assembled at any venue.

The model will include features such as lighting effects for blue and green networks, street lights, road networks, and lighting effects for various land-use zones. These features will be interactive and operable using a mobile app.

CRDA officials say that vendors will be required to submit a project plan, including a schedule for preparation of a digital form of the model using 3D modelling software. Model-makers must strictly adhere to the approved project plan and schedule during execution of the works.
