Women and child development minister Maneka Gandhi’s proposal to introduce religious texts in schools is a heart warming idea. Since our country has multiple religious, it would be nice to have basic idea about all the religions. It would also end misinformation being spread by people with vested interests about other religions. Chandramohan Secunderabad

Does teaching religion to school students inculcate religious values or does it hinder religious freedom? If the school teaches religious texts, it will impinge upon the student’s right to freedom of religion. So it would be better if the children learns about their religion at their home.
